Swapping pumpkins

I am preparing to remove the 3.55 pumpkin from my 05 TWD and replace with a 2.73 LS from an 04 FWD. I am looking for guidance as to whether or not to change bearings, races, etc. or just move forward with a direct swap.
Any other caveots are appreciated.
Thanks,
Erik

You must mean a 3.73 and I don't think you can change a pumkin in these thruks. It requires a gear change and set up or a complete axel.
