I have a 2008 F150 XLT 4x4 and i am having problems with the 4hi. When i go to reverse into a parking spot or just to try and turn around while i'm on the trail it turns for about 3 feet and then locks up and the truck will no longer move. Has anyone had this problem happen to them or know anything that would cause this. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

 

2008 should still be on warranty?

 

it is on warranty but even the dealership cant figure it out. they have had it for like 3 days at one point and they still couldnt figure it out

 

our 4x4 system sucks...my dealer ship claims that mine works but when in 4 hi or 4 low and loaded (trying to pull or go up hill) only the rear tires spin the front hubs make a ticking noise i also have 4.88 front and rear

 

Go to the 2004-2008 forum and do a search on IWE. You will find a ton of useful stuff to solve your problem. The system isn't perfect, but it's not hard to fix either.
