weird noise upon acceleration? 2006 f150

I have a 2006 f150 and the other day i had the windows down while driving and noticed when i accelerated there was a weird noise coming from what i think is the rear end of the truck. It sounds like a disc spinning with a kind of screechy sound?? The sound only happens when i accelerate or use the gas pedal, not while coasting or reving the engine. it just started happening, probably gonna end up takin it to my mechanic to have him look at it just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem?

I have the same issue with mine right now. I'm trying to figure out what it is. Mine sounds like a whistling noise or something like that when I accelerate. It has to be something with either the differential or the rotors/brakes.

Could it be a whistle from a slight exhaust leak?

I thought about the exhaust leak, but it doesn't make any odd noises if in nuetral with the engine being reved up. My buddy said it sounds like it could be a universal joint?? My other friend was thinking maybe something with the differential. The sound mine makes almost sounds like a disc spinning but it has a metalic sound. The sound doesn't usually start till i am going at least 20 or 25 mph. My mechanic didn't seem to think much of the sound but it is really bothering me.

The noise I hear sounds to me, and people that heard it like it's coming from my rear brakes, like a caliper is stuck and the pad is rubbing against the rotor. It is definitely in the rear and it isn't an exhaust leak.
