Gear swap in Orange County CA

Can anyone recommend a differential shop in Orange County for a gear swap? I've searched online and can't find one. Thanks!

You're kidding right? In SoCal w/ all those speed shops, hot rod outlets, and custom builders; and you can't find one of them to work on your drive line?

Sweet, they can pimp my ride!! I didn't think of looking at speed shops, I just searched for differential mechanics. From what I have read, you want someone that has experience or specializes in setting up rear ends to get it done right, which is why I asked for a recommendation. I'm sure I can grab the yellow pages and most mechanics that I call will say they can do it, but I'd rather have someone that I know can do it. Thanks.

I had mine done when my lift was installed. 4 Wheel Parts Performance Center.

Randy's Ring & Pinion has an outlet in Fresno. Make an appointment and take a road trip.

Socaltrailrider,

There is a local shop in HB. They're pretty knowledgeable. All they do are differentials. The guy has pretty good depth on lockers, etc.

Here is the info

JNS Gear Company
18222 Gothard St, #A
Huntington Beach, CA 92648
714-841-4545

I personally have not had worked done by them. However, I plan to use them when i get my trutrac. They were referred by a buddy who had some work done on his mustang

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Got the gears installed on Saturday. Went with Ford OEM gears. Everything works great, no whine or other noises. With the 4.10's and the Edge, it's like a brand new truck! The RPM's are higher on the freeway as expected, but not too bad. Reset the gears on the Edge and the speedo on the edge is spot on with my GPS. The speedo on the truck is a couple miles faster, but I heard that Ford sets it up that way.

Tires are 265-60-18. The truck had 3.55's stock and it is the 4.6l V8.

How much seat of the pants horsepower does it feel like you gained from the gearing? i have the same engine and i'll be going from the 3.73 to 4.30 soon.

I'm not really sure how many ponies it relates to, but, the combo of the Edge and the new gears made it a whole new truck! I'm definitely happy with the swap. I haven't towed with it yet, but just going up a couple of steep hills, I could feel the difference.
