4.10 or 4.56?

The truck is an 08 regular cab, v6 5-spd with 2.5 level and 1.5 rear shackles. Tires are 35x12.5 pro comp at's with 17 pro comp 1069's. The truck came factory with the 235's and the 3.31 rear end. According to gear calculators I would need a 3.86 ratio to get back near stock. Obviously I orginally chose 4.10 since it was closest to 3.86. Now Im considering 4.56 because of the extra weight and rolling resistance with the 35's. My only concern with the 4.56's is that I may be running to many RPM's while rolling down the highway. I dont drive on the highway everyday, but I do hit the highway occasionally for vacations and the like. The most I would ever tow with the truck would be 2 dirtbikes on my trailer or a small (approximately 3k) pop-up camper. The only off-roading the truck ever see's is the sand at the beach(which is the whole reason for the wider and taller tires), so extremely low gearing for off-road is not necessary. Whats yall's opinion? 4.10 or 4.56? I understand that 4.30 is an option, but my buddy who runs a gear shop only has 4.10's and 4.56's in stock and they have a special price for me.....if he has to order gears the price goes up significantly.

Thanks in advance!
Josh

Many people are running 4.56's with the V8's. I would suggest 4.56 at a minimum and probably 4.88's with the V6.

I have an 07 4.2L V6 that came with 3.55 gears & 235/70/17 tires. I now run 4.10 gears w/ 315/70/17 tires. I couldn't be happier. There is enough power at the wheels to get up & go, plus pull around a little weight in the bed or a small boat. But I'm still able to get decent mileage. 4.56 or 4.88 gears will bring your mileage way down. You still need your truck to be driveable.
