I have the above truck in pretty good shape, the 4x4 worked fine before this fix. I put 8 new coils on it and now the switch does nothing. The light comes on when you start it but other than that no 4x4. I don't know the ins and outs of this system, could I have unpluged something or did it just fail? I should say that the 4x4 and low rand light come on at startup and then go out as usual. The dash mounted switch makes no sound or lights up anything. please help!!!

 

Did you move any of the vacuum lines when you changed the coils? There is a thick line that snakes around the the passenger side and leads to the solenoids on the fire wall behind the battery.

also be sure to check the fuses, simple thing, but its happened to me and it might save LOTS of time and effort

 

I did move some vacuum lines i will check to see if I dislodged one from the solenoid. I also checked the fuse and all good
