Ok i have this noise under my truck i can not for the life of my figure out what it is, it sounds like metal on metal vibrating on each other, i checked all the brakes not them i went under for about 2 hours the other day and i could not create the noise. It occurs while driving over 15 mph and as soon as i let off the gas it goes away, im out of ideas any one have any suggestions? Im not sure where its coming from sounds towards the rear of the truck but cant be certain.

4x4 ? Does that one have a Mid-Shift bearing or Solid shaft? It's an automatic right?

yes its 4x4 with the manuel hubs with an automatic tranny, what do u mean by midshaft bearings? Are u talking about the front drive shaft if u are it has a boot about quarter the way down the shaft these may be the bearings u are talking about.

Now I'm getting some info. A Mid Shift is between your tail shaft and rear end. It's part of the rear shaft.

Your front shaft should have velocity joints. Is everything greased up real well? Could it be a U-joint? It could also be an exhaust leak as well.
