2004 F 150 hub Noise ??

2004 F 150 hub Noise ??

Drivers side front, while driving at certain speeds I get a "Marbles in a tin can sound" It does not seem to do it while its in 4x4.
Any suggestions..
Is this the hub??

Yes, this is the hub (IWE) or a vacuum problem to it.

Any suggestions as to what to look for or how to repair??
Also I do not have the push button style shift for 4wd I have the floor shift..

Doesn't matter what shift you have, the front hubs are independent from the TC. They just activate at the same time. Things you can easily look for is a crack or other problem with the vacuum line to the hub. Other problems are a bad solenoid, or a bad IWE. The solenoid is at leas partially working as you passenger side IWE is not making noise.
The IWE itself is not repairable. Just full replacement.
The default settings for the IWE is locked. When in 2wd, vacuum is sent to the IWE to unlock, and it stays that way until shutdown or you put it into 4wd.
