ring and pinion question

ring and pinion question

i have a 95 f150 with ifs that just had new gearing put in it.it has a dana44.my question is if i put a straight dana 44 in can i use the ring and pinion from the ifs axle or are they different.

I think you have reverse gears in the TTB but the solid axle would not. This is my semi-educated answer.

the sraight axle will still have reverse cut gears if it does not you wont be able to go anywere, in drive your front axle will try to be going in revere and rear axle will be trying to go forward, now if the gears will work from your ttb will work in a straight axle i do not know i would call a shop that you got the gears installed at to find that out

Welcome ! The front, reverse-cut ring and pinion set is interchangeable between the two.
