hey bigtruck311 i got a ?

I was just wondering what i should be expecting to pay to go to 4.10 or 4.56 geraing. I kno most of the price is in the installation and i do have a 4x4 so it would be frint and back. Any estimate would be appreciated.

it really depends on your location and the shop, an offroad shop that installs lifts usauly does a good job on gears becousethey do so many of them the price is better there also, probably around 500$ an axle so be prepared to spend about a grand, maybe more depending on location and demand,

Thats kind of what i exected to hear, although i wish it was less lol. I am planning on going to 35's soon with a 6" fabtech and was wondering if you would go 4.10 or go 4.56. Also if you could give me sme advantages or disadvantages with going to one or the other especially with gas millage. Any more info would be greatly appreciated.

if you currently have 3.55 or do alot of highway driving i would go with the 4.10, if you have 3.73 now and you dont mind losing some mpg on the highway or if you just want performance or if you plan on getting a bigger tire than 35" in the futer go with 4.56, if it was my truck i would go with 4.56, you will lose maybe 1-2 mpg on the highway but you will gain 1-2 in the city, hope this helps

Thanx

This helps alot since i do very little highway driving and i am always looking for better mpg in the city. Thank You

Just wondering

If i decide to do my gearing in advance to my lift and larger tires, what differences will i see from stock. Will i still have the better city gas millage, i will almost certainly be alot quicker off the line correct. I was just making sure that i wont have any problems or even if it is a good idea// bad idea to reagear to 4.56 while still running stick tires.

with 4.56 on stock tires you will be running at 500 or so rpm higher than normal your tranny will act weird like it does not know when to shift if i was you i would wait till the tires and lift are on before getting the gears, the cool thing is you could burn those tires like it is cool:D
