Fram filters are garbage! The Motorcraft filter is a high quality filter.
I agree about using a gasket on the diff cover though. Makes the job go a lot quicker, you don't have to wait to let the RTV set before installing the cover. I do use a very thin coat of RTV in addition to the gasket, you don't have to let that set.

2003 ford f150
I have a 2003 ford f150 and I am looking to change the rear diff fluid
it is a 3.73 LS rear end
the tag looks like it says "75W90" on the tag but i cant be sure after looking online it looks like i should use 75W140
I dont know which to use and dont know what kind of additive to add any help would be great!

75W140 full synthetic with a bottle of Ford XL3. Autozone carries Valvoline 75W140, get the XL3 from the dealer, it's not expensive.
