Wrecked and repaired the same day! D'OH!

I was on my way back from the dealer this morning after getting new plugs and wires put on, and the check engine light came on. I exited the freeway to see if anything was left unplugged and didn't notice anything right off, so I decided to go to the house and get something to eat. I backed up a few feet, cut the wheel, and started to move,,,BANG!!!! One of those stupid concrete light pole mounts caught the bumper just to the right of the right frame horn. It was all my fault , I admit, but there was no pole bolted onto to it to warn of the impending doom. I didn't even bother to get out and look, it was too embarrassing there.(not too many people around though:p ) I finally got the truck home, limping and taking wide turns to keep from rubbing the tire on it.
I get out and it looks kind of bad, the bumper was folded up under the fender just enough to crease it a little. At that very second, it hit me, lol! No pun intended, that my friend had a chrome Expy bumper at his shop. I called him up and told him what happened, and he agreed to exchange the bumper for the carbon fiber tail lights that were back ordered anyway. So,,,,to make a long story even longer, the truck looks great again!!:D The bumper pad even turned out to be the exact same paint code, lol. Man, I have some good luck sometimes! Too bad it always follows bad luck, hehe. I will post pictures here later on tomm., or sometime this week. I don't have any before pics, couldn't bring myself to take any:),,,,,98

Good thing I had the Stillen air dam off at the time!!

Now I found out why the check engine light was on. Because the guy didn't do a final check and reconnect the pcv valve, I had to go through all this, sheesh,,,,,98

can you not help but feel that this ordeal was partly his fault. If you hadn't left the freeway when you did, you have not hit that concrete...

I look at it this way, the Expy bumpers stick out a few inches further than the 150's. He' ll have to work on it again someday:D Now that it's all buttoned up again, and for money I had already spent anyway, I'm not that broken up about it. It's an excuse to get another air dam, diferent fog lights, etc... etc...:D The mods will continue unhindered, hehe,,,,,98
