Windshield stone chip
350 miles on my new truck and right in front of my eyes a small stone chip emerged.
The chip is right in my line of sight, I guess the insurance should cover the repair or replacement with no deductible. Since the truck is 1 week old will they dispute putting an oem factory windshield on it if not repairable? I would have to insist on OEM.

State Farm told me they would only approve non etched glass which would be aftermarket. The auto glass shop I selected couldn't find a supplier with glass for my truck in stock so SF approved the OEM Carlite with no out of pocket! Worked out good only the glass will take 7-10 days to get in.

Glad it worked out for you and you got OEM!
I received a bad chip about 1/2" wide 18 mo ago right where you had yours. I didn't want to deal with insurance so went with a reputable local glass repair guy. 30 min later and $50 lighter the chip was gone. In my experience if you fix them early then you get the best results.

Exactly!!! 15 years here repairing windshields for a living. I have been with Enterprise rental for ten of them. If you get someone who knows what they are doing there will be not much scar.
