Chipped chrome on bumper--rusting, how to touch up?

I was rear ended a few weeks ago. It wasn't a big accident but there is a dent in my chrome bumper now.

The chrome has chipped off in the dent in a spot about the size of a quarter and bare metal is showing, which has now rusted.

Any suggestions on how to touch this up?

TIA

w/o rechroming, the best you could do is use steel wool to clean up the rust, and apply a silver/grey primer to it. it wont look the best, but WILL look better then rust

Use a chrome polish w/rust remover to see how good it will work. Dependign on how it still looks(bare metal?) I would then sand the damaged area, tape-off, prime, paint with a bumper chrome paint, and finish with a few more light coats, possibly topping it off with a clear coat. It wont be a true chrome mirror finish, but it will look much better. This is the method i did on my 63 ford falcon, but to the entire rear bumper. good luck
