Driver's side window problem
 

Yesterday, on the way home from work, I rolled down the drivers side window using the auto down feature. As the window reached the bottom, I heard a noise that sounded almost as if the window went below the stop on the bottom of the track. The next small bump I went over caused a rattle in the same area, but only once. I was able to duplicate the problem every time I rolled the window down the whole way, but not if I stopped in anywhere short of completely open.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions for what this is before I take it to the dealer?

Ouch..
Yeah, I have a driver's side problem. Started almost immediately after buying the
vehicle new.
Noise, rattling, so forth. Took it to dealer
and they "fixed" it (dealer's definition of
fix is "make owner go away"!)
Again, same stuff.. about a year later...
took it back. Well, happened three times...
and now, at 81K and well off warranty, it
is doing it again.
Took it to my mechanic. He opened up the door
and told me the motor is gone and so are
a few 'sliders' (or whatever it runs on?)..
Total cost to fix it comes to about $325!
And he said that dealers just like to
lubricate the damn thing, not replace a bad
or failing motor.
Big business guys! The bane of the "working
mans" existence. We need to rise up! Ahh,
but where?
If your truck is under warranty, take it
to Ford... DEMAND a brand new everything...
and get the old parts back!
