Cool 4x4 bumper on a lowered 2x4

Anyone heard of a 4x4 bumper being installed on a 2x4? Is it possible? If it is possible, can i install a 4x4 bumper to my 2x4 w/ a 3/4 drop without needing to buy any extra brackets or hardware? Will I have to just bolt it in place of my 2x4 bumper?

Thanks

Mana - Aloha! I live in Kailua and have been trying to decide on a fog light set up for my 4x2. Where did you find a 4x4 valance and how much? Have you seen the stillen storm air dam? Later!

Cool

howzit banzai, You can find the prices on www.fordpartsonline.com . The 4x4 bumper w/ cutouts is $290; the lower valance $45 ; and the fog lamp kit bout $180. That website will give price quotes on anyother part. What i'd really like to do (and probably will) is to convert my front end to a SVT Lightning (i also got quotes on that). If you want you could go to archives and look under Apearance Products or Other Body, you'll find a post that really gave me alot of info on doing that conversion. It gives a quick step by step, part numbers, and pics. As far as the stillen storm airdams, I might have seen it in past Truckin mags, Do you know of a place on oahu that sells Stillen products?

Thumbs up

An easier way. Instead of searching every post. Just go to search, and under "user name search" type Xenon. And you'll find the lightning conversion info.

Howzit! If you're gona go with the 4x4 set up, i think you only need the lower valance and the fog light kit. Based on your prices, the 4x4 set up would be about $225, which is a little lower than the $241 price i saw on another thread by jstang. He mentioned a kit, YL3Z-15200-AAA, which he said also included the switch. I'll try your site to see what kind of prices i get. I thought about the lightning, but was reading about costs of $1,000, more that i want to spend. Been looking at the stillen valence because it looks alot like the lightning, but only costs $204 and their lights are $48. Only problem is shipping. Want to decide this weekend before the wife comes home (on a trip to the mainland)!

Mana-I decided to go with the Stillen lower valance - more of a lightning look and cheaper. If you're looking for a short cut, there is a set of Ford fog lights on auction on ebay, no wires, but could be worked around. Just buy the lower valance and these lights, should be good to go with a little work! Later!

Question

Does anyone know what exterior changes are in store for the F-150 in 2002? I mean, the Ranger got a complete new front end. The current front end of the F-150 is already 2.5 years old. Will it get completely restyled like the Ranger? I was thinking of adding a 99-01 4X4 grille/bumper to my 98 2WD. But if they're changing it in 2002, I guess I could wait. But then again, such a major restyle would probably not be interchangeable.

Thanks.
