98's don't say triton
 

How come the 98's don't have the decal on the sides of the truck, below where it says f150 saying triton v8? Does anyone know if they can be ordered? And if they can be, is it a hastle to take off the old one's and put on the new one's?

The 97's don't either. It was a late model year styling change in 98. Yes you can order them and if you do a search you will probably find the part #'s and instructions. Me? I like the sleeper look myself.

I have a '98 that I ordered from the factory and it has the triton badge on it...

I also have a 98 with the Triton badges. I wish the holes weren't behind them cause I'd take 'em off and give 'em to ya! I prefer the clean plain look. https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif

I was just at my local Ford dealership today having the parts guy look these up.

I've got a 97 that only says F-150 so I was looking into the 98+ emblems. They had them both for the XL and the XLT that said "Triton V8" right below and to the right hand side of the F-150:

of course everything lined up. They didn't have anything for the Lariat though. I didn't want to add the emblem that says XL or XLT where I've got the Lariat package, but he said either could be ordered for $19 per emblem.

He also seemed to think that they were just stuck on with the double-sided foam tape stuff (no holes) but he wasn't positive. I'm sure somebody on this board would know for sure.

I have seen them minus the XLT and XL. They must be out there somewhere.

I have a 98' xlt with the 4.6 and it says triton on it also. I dont want mine, so if anyone know wether there are holes behind them then I will take them off. I would prefer it without them.

I found a solution to the lack of the Triton designation on my 97. I just ordered a set of Triton V8 badges from a Super Duty. They are small and should look good stuck beneath the F150 emblem on the side of my Lariat. (don't have to worry about XL or XLT) They cost about $15 each and will not require removing the original F150 emblems.

Perfect! I was about to go down to the dealership (again) today to have them look at the emblems for the S/D because I though for sure that I'd seen them before not attached to the rest of the F-150 emblem. Sounds like the ones you're talking about. Thanks for the tip.

I just picked up some 'supercharged' emblems that are a nice match (Thanks for the tip Chaplain) that I'm going to try and tie in as well to look something like this:

The supercharged emblem is about the same height as the Triton V8 emblem so I'm hoping they will all work together and not look too lame...
