Question about swapping H/U's
 

My friend just got a 97 f150, and wanted to upgrade some stuff. he was wondering if his stock head unit can be just swapped right out for a newer ford headunit with the single disc CD and tape player and all that. his truck is an XL so it doesn't have any of that, and he wanted to upgrade a little without going aftermarket, cuz i can get him a deal on the new ford HU for really cheap. so would it plug right in and work since its already got the cd player internally? thanks for any info :thumbsup:
