HAVE ANY OF YOU HAD GOOD RESULTS WITH KENWOOD CD PLAYERS? IF SO TELL ME ABOUT IT. HOW WAS THE SOUND QUALITY? I AM GOING TO BUY A KENWOOD KDC-316S WITH REMOTE FOR $149.95 AT CRUTCHFIELD. DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A GOOD IDEA? AND SOME PIONEER 6X8'S 3-WAY SPEAKERS ARE GOING IN THE DOORS OF MT XL(WITHOUT AN AMP). I DON'T WAN'T IT TO LOUD. DO YOU THINK THIS WILL SOUND GOOD. I MIGHT BUY A POWERED SUB TO PUT BEHIND THE SEAT FOR BETTER BASS. IF ANYONE HAS HAD A KENWOOD CD PLAYER OR CURRENTLY HAS ONE, TELL ME ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT IT.

Loved my Kenwood...
I had a basic Kenwood with fixed plate in my 84 Camaro and loved it. I should not have let it go with it when I sold it. I LOVE the Attenuator button and will not buy another HU with out it. Kenwood is known for their receivers good quality reception and I never once had my cd skip!! I am planning on buying the KDC-716S with D MASK+ for my 97 F150. Too bad they do not make a receiver with a scan button (not just the present scan).

I've got the Kenwood KDC MP8017 MP3 head unit and love it. It hits at about 22 watt rms x 4 and the sound is great. But I love the idea of having 7 or more albums on a single disc. Who needs a changer with all that?
I like Kenwood products and think you're getting a pretty good deal. Keep in my mind that the best HU will not live up to its potential on stock speakers. Good luck!
Check the MP3 HU specs here

I've got a Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X717.
Strengths: killer sound, CD changer controls, don't needexternal x-overs, paramatric EQ, 4.5-volt pre-outs
Weakness:
BUTTONS ARE TOO TINY TOO OPERATE EASILY!!!
Really, this reciever is awesome at a great price. Nothing I found can touch it when price is a consideration. But it seems Kenwood likes to populate their faceplates with ridiculously small buttons. Who's idea was it to place the EJECT button 1mm away form the VOLUME UP button?
After living with it, I'm not sure I would buy another, simply based on button size alone.
