After market antenna suggestions

Can anyone recommend an aftermarket antenna that is shorter than factory and not a waste?

Thank you!

Ryan.

Maybe this will be helpful for someone else reading this.

You don't want a shorter antenna, unless you don't want to pickup AM/FM signals. A properly cut antenna (like the stock one) will yield best results. The antenna has to be resonate (AKA, be tuned) to the frequencies in which you want it to receive.

In this case, your stock antenna is quarter wave, meaning it is roughly 29 1/2 inches long...

This ones kind of old so I'll update...

I've had good luck with a 13" rubber antenna and a 8" rubber antenna with the couple of FM stations I listen to around here. No difference at all from the tall wire thing from this those two stations, And one of those is notoriously weak yet still comes in. So I run the shorter one all the time now. Much better in car wash.
