Question What should I put in my truck?

Just sending out a feeler for input on installing a new cd player, amp(s), and speakers. I haven't bought audio equipment for over ten years and am a little out of date. Need to hear some opinions about different systems, ranging in price from cheapest to lower high-end. I don't want something that will shake the neighbors 5 miles down the road, just lottsa bass, reasonably loud, and not too flashy.

Thanks,
Shannon

Improving your stereo is a lot of fun and can be money very well spent. You'll really enjoy the results. I would encourage you do a lot of research and decide on a budget before you start buying.

If the budget allows, defnitnely go for component speakers up front, an amp and sub woofer. Rear speakers are not very important, IMO. Don't forget that amp wiring, cables and fuses can easily add $100 to your cost.

A good place to start your research is www.crutchfield.com If you order equipment from them, their prices can be higher than some but they have excellent customer service and give you installation guides and adaptors to make your install easy.

Good luck!

I'll just tell you what I have, it sounds awsome. The deck is a Pioneer Premier (DEH520) with remote, Pioneer 200W 6x8's (TS-6895), Kenwood 300Wx1 (bridged) amp (KC600) which runs two Rockford Fosgate 200W 10" subs (RFZ1810-8ohm), sealed boxes behind the seat, approx. 1 cu. ft. air space per.
The deck is 45Wx4 and will run the 6x8's fine (no amp needed at all) Pioneer is the only ones that make the 6x8's (custom size for Ford and Toyota) The amp is bridged mono and the 8 ohm 10's are run in parallel making a 4ohm load
Try the link to see the stuff....hope this helps out some or gives you some ideas.
