Well, I really didn't want to cut any holes in mine, but sounds like that may be the only option? Thanks for your replies guys.

Ideas

Not sure if this thread died out, but I'm interested in installing a CB Radio on my 2012 Ford F-150 XL, Standard Cab, WITH Camper Shell.

After researching mounts and whatnot, I don't really like any of them. Most are a little too exposed for my OCD brain lol. I have attached a sketch of a mount that I'm looking for but haven't found. Would this set up work? Interested in all of your suggestions. Thank you

IDieselman, putting the radio inside the console is not a good idea as it doesn't get enough ventilation for cooling !

1..Cooling
2. easy access to controls .you shouldn't have to look down as you're taking eyes off the road
3.Convenient cable runs. My older truck had large holes in the firewall Present '09 had small holes hard to find. But there's no problem in drilling through the firewall .Use a step drill, make sure what's on the other side ,You MUST use a grommet to prevent metal from cutting cable ,Then seal with silicone.
