Problem with Momma's Jeep

Ok audio guys, this one has me kind of stumped. Mom has a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Infinity Gold Sound system. It's a six speaker system, two tweeters in the dash plus one in each door. Basically, it's a factory-amped system. The original headunit burned out and the speakers blew out, so they have been replaced with Pioneer components. Originally, the problem started out as the right front channel not working. Doesn't matter what headunit is in either. Now, when you turn on the radio, you get NOTHING but static, whether it is on CD or radio. If you crank up the volume the sound will over-ride the static, but turn it back down and it is still there. I'm leaning towards the amp being shot, but like some opinions. Mom said originally the static would take a minute to show up after you start the car, but now it is there as soon as the car is on. Any ideas? All connections on the amp are tight, no wires seem to be loose.

Static sound is coming from the left front speakers (dash tweeters & door) ONLY. Rear speakers work normally.

A couple ways you could find your problem. Option 1) hook up a different speaker to that output. This will tell you if its the output or the speaker. Option 2) Hook up a different h/u. This will tell you if its the h/u.

Do you have a factory h/u or aftermarket h/u? Is it powered by the factory amp? If so, I would bypass it. You might be able to get bypass harness from a stereo shop or you can do it yourself.

Its not hard to rewire that amp and get rid of it. Its just above the PKP or under Passenger Side Rear Seat. If you need help email me and ill give you my #.

It is not the speakerS. The tweeters are in the dash. It's not the headunit. Like I said in my original post, it has a pioneer headunit in.

The amp is under the passenger side rear seat. Do you have a wiring diagram for it? I'd rather just bypass the amp.

 No big deal. I won't see her Jeep until tomorrow, and then it's to take me to the airport, so I won't be working on it then.
