speed sensitive volume
 

I just installed a pioneer cd/mp3 player in my 2004 f150. However the volume still compensates for road noise and wind. Is there a way to bypass this. I was thinking there me be a factory amp somewhere but without the wiring diagrams i have no clue where it may be. Any help would be appreciated. Nevermind, i figured it out. Thanks

There is no external amp in a 2004 F150. You didn't mention how you made connections. If you bought a premade harness, it may have been configured for this feature. Either way, the GY/BK wire in the factory harness is for the vehicle speed sensor. You could remove the connection. If this doesn't help, providing more info would be helpful, what model pioneer, who installed it? If it was you, how did you connect it.

I should clarify that the only external amp is in the subwoofer, but since the XLT doesn't have the audiophile as an option, you would not have it.

Is the pioneer changing the volume... Better pioneers have "ASL" in the audio menu that can change sensitivity and on/off. Or is it the truck itself.... don't know much about the 2004's

I AM trying to utilize the speed sensitive volume in a new HU. Does anyone know how to do this? Should I get a wiring harness from somewhere special? I'm looking at having the Sony F5500 installed with out an additional amp. Also, does anyone know if the wiring harness for the 04 is the same as for an 03?

The wire harness you need is a metra 70-5520. There is also a Schoche one out but don't know the number off the top of my head. I tried getting an adapter a couple months ago to use the sub out on my CD-6 and never found one. Bought a adapter for an 03 and it was totaly different. You might want to call Metra and have them get you a number.

Not a clue, but if it was going to work, you would need that plug that's not available to wire up to the aftermarket hu muting feature. They got to be available someday soon. Metra makes the complete kits for all the other cars & trucks.
