I Like My Fiberglass Ram Air Hood But I Hate It.
 

I purchased the hood cause I really like the looks of it. But After I took to the trails I found out I made a mistake. The Ram Air hood doesn't allow me to see about 4 feet in front of me.

I was about to replace it with a dipped hood but I can't find one. So Just as I took the saver saw to my brand new truck 3 years ago right after I drove it from the dealer with 8 miles on it, I'm now about to repeat the same scenario by taking the saver saw to the hood.

This will be somewhat the idea I'm contemplating after I take the saver saw to remove the scoops and create a dipped hood out of it.

Do I know what the hell I'll be doing? NO!

Am I confident that whatever come out of it will look awesome? YES!!!

I don't know how feasible this is, but have you ever thought of mounting one of those rear end cameras up front?

actually there was a guy on here awhile back that had a back up camera mounted on the front in a bull bar i believe and he had it ran to a switch. that sounds like the ticket to me because i really don't thing modifying the hood will help. on hills like in the picture when offroad i can't see the ground in front of my either and i have a stock hood.

Holy crap man! I was looking into a camera set up for when I'm out during the hurricanes.

I feel your pain OG, when we got my wifes 05 it had the fiberglass hood on it already and after driving it we realized that blocks a lot of your view, I could only imagine trying to take it out on a trail like you do.

would you sell the hood and maybe try that idea with a factory hood it sure is a nice hood to cut up

I would consider trading hoods with you. Then you can have an OEM hood to chop up.
