Question Underdrive Pulleys Worth It?

I have recently done the Air Force 1 Intake and Magnaflow SIDO setup and am very pleased with the results. I have the Superchip upgrade and a 3.73 gear as well. I am now thinking about going with the Troyer Performance underdrive pulley kit with Gatorback belt. I figure after all is said and done that it will cost me $300 total for the parts and labor. Has anyone done this and is it noticable like the air intake and exhaust upgrade?

I had the 2-piece ASP set on my 2000 5.4 for 4 years. I highly recommend them and consider their claims totally fulfilled.

How would I go about resetting the idle? Send my chip off to Mike? This seems like a very good upgrade but I want to get everything right before I do it. What about the electric fan? Is stock still good enough to run the engine cool? I do not do any towing and only day to day driving. Not a big AC user either. Thanks for the info guys!

I have the Moto blue set on my 2000 F150 for a year now. I have not changed my idle (about 700rpm) and have electric fans with the stock battery which turned 5 years old this month. I think it was a worth while investment but I only have about 60% of what you are quoting. It really is not that hard to install yourself if you can get the pulling tool ( can't remember what they called it). Any ways my neighbor had the crank pulley puller? and loaned it to me for free, about 20-30 mins installation time.

Sorry for the slow response, but I was out of town. I didn't change the idle at all, but the truck did come with the HD electrical group. You can have the idle bumped up with your chip/tuner, but mine was fine. The only negative effect that I had whatsoever was if I had max fan AC on, combined with heavy electrical use including headlights, I would get slight headlight dimming, idling in gear.

15 rwhp no way

i installed my underdrive pullies for my 03 ext FX4, with a fipk intake, tuner, and magnaflow siso and finally e-fans, and there is alittle difference, 15 rwhp? Nah..... but the worst thing about these mods is you get used to it and you dont know if the power is still there!!

i will admitt it took me forever to get them on b/c i had to travel the state to borrow an impact wrench.

also with the 5.4 grinding down the nipple on the block was a pain in my..
