Electric F-150 render: Hot or not?
We know that an electric F-150 is coming, so what do you think about this render? I don't feel too strongly one way or the other, but I'm more curious as to how much Ford will want to differential it from the standard one or the hybrid...

If it's electric, why does it appear to have a tailpipe?

Looks like a very nice render. who did it?

I don't like the charging socket in the grill -- that will not last long in the salty NE.

No gasoline motor = no radiator so why not get rid of the grill and streamline the front? I expect that they would get rid of the shark fin and whip antennas for the same reason and that the running boards would be electrically retracted instead of being in fixed position and hanging out in the air stream. I also expect that Ford might give up the tough guy image and get rid of the tow hooks and some of the other drag inducing features. I also wouldn't be surprised if they did away with the large outside mirrors and replaced them with flush mounted cameras, and possibly with a heads up display. I suspect that an electric F-150 will be much more streamlined and won't have the bumps and bulges and recesses that the current models have.
On an electric F-150 Ford might do away completely with the hood and nose and make the truck look like one of the 1960s Forward Control Jeeps. It could have batteries mounted under the bed and 2 or 4 electric motors, each build into the wheel hubs. |

Yup - Appears Tesla has not engineered an emergency relief system to release the magic smoke when necessary. Musk is probably putting profit ahead of safety. It's comforting that Ford has not gone this route with the electric 150.
