Boyo Camera Connection
Boyo Camera Connection
Some questions for any of you guys that know about connecting rearview cameras. I have never had to hook up any sort of accessory like this before and want to be sure of the steps before I start.
Pictures first...

As you can see from the pictures, I have a BOYO VTL400 camera that I would like to connect to my Kenwood DNX9960. I have tried searching for threads to answer my questions with no luck.
The camera has a single wire coming off of it with a white connector. Then there is the long video wire with the corresponding white connector on one end and on the other end is the yellow video wire (pictured above) and then two other wires. One is red and is labeled VCC+ and the other one is black labeled GND-.
The Kenwood unit has a reverse sensor wire (Purple/White) and also has and accessory plug that has a CAM+ and CAM- wires.
Do I connect the red VCC+ to CAM+ and the black GND- to CAM- on the Kenwood unit?
Where do I connect Purple/White reverse sensor wire that is coming off the Kenwood Unit?
How could I wire this to where I could view the camera on demand and also have it come on when I put the truck in reverse?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I would connect the camera + to the reverse wire in the tail light, and then bring it into the cab. If you want to add a trigger wire then tap into the wire coming into the cab, but use a diode between the splice and the tail light to prevent the reverse light from coming on

to the same wire you tap for the camera + (i think)
if i understand your equipment correctly, you have a reverse trigger wire for the HU so it knows when to switch to the video feed.
