I want to upgrade!

I have an 07 FX4 SCREW, It has the basic 6-CD changer and I want to upgrade to different head unit. My buddy has an 08 FX4 and he is also upgrading but he has the factory head unit w/ Navi and all that fun stuff.
I was wondering if I could use his in my truck and it'll be a plug and play.
If not which head unit would ya'll recommend me(probably the only option I would like is Navi thats bout' it)
THANKS;)

I know it can be done but not sure how much work is involved. There has to be a gps antena somwhere etc... Plus I am not sure if the wiring is there or not. Hopefully someone will chime in.

On a note for other recommendations....

How often do you use your navi?

I have a Pioneer D3 and it is great! DVD, Nav, Capable of adding Reverse Camera, Bluetooth, Sat Radio, Ipod Connection etc... The only downside to it is that it only has one disc slot so you have to pop in the nav disc, enter your route and let it store it into memory. Then you can pull out the disc and put in your cd that you want to listen to. Upgraded Z models have 2 slots but cost quite a bit more.

thanks lordfeyr, I like that D3 of yours. I'll probably use the navi once a week. How much did that cost, if you don't mind?

MSRP is about 1k but you can find them for better than that. I bought it when they first came out so I paid the full price. :(

I have the newer version of the D3, the F90BT and its amazing. I got mine for 550 on amazon. If you don't need DVD capability then you can get the F700BT for around 350 right now. I'm waiting for my install kit to come in so I can put it in the 150.
