Drop down DVD or headrest DVD - Can't decide!!

Looking at getting rear DVD for the kids but can't decide what to get.
I have 2008 Harley with SUNROOF...

I have found an installer who can put in a 11.2" drop down DVD, he said their is a brace bar that goes across the roof that they can mount the player to.

Or, I can get 2 7" headrest monitors.

Drop down is $1099 installed (Canadian price:(, not willing to order from US)

Head rest DVD is $1049 for enrty level generic headrest or $2000 for Rosen F150 matched headrests

Any advise on the dropdown DVD with sunroof? Will it shake/vibrate when on the road. Not sure if I want to spend $2k on the headrest ones, but the cheaper ones have the generic headrest which I am not sure if I would like.

Any thoughts, please!!
I am not too concerned with the kids having the ability to watch different things at the same time so that would not be a deciding factor for me

One final requirement: I want this done and installed by May 15th, so I cannot order anything for cheaper price.
Thanks

Go for the Headrests. I dont remember any braces to put the OMV up with the sunroof and Ive done a few ;)

Al I would go with the headrests. I have had both and will never have the drop down again. I have 2 boys and the headrests allow them to watch 2 different movies at the same time. Mine even came with a joystick that has a few games built into it. All you do it plug it in and play. I also have a sunroof and felt like the screen would be right on top of them. Below is a picture of what they look like.

I have decided to get the drop down DVD. I am getting it installed tomorrow.
-I was not sold on the look of the universal headrests and they did not tilt, so drop down it is.

I will post some pics when complete and hopefully it looks okay.

If anyone has any reason why I should not get the drop down, please let me know before Friday morning, please!!

I have a Jensen JMV12 12.1 inch LCD drop down. The kids love it. And the screen is huge. I have 3 kids so there's no way I could get away with headrests DVD without fighting between them about who has to sit in the middle. Mine doesn't shake at all going down the road but I don't have a hole in the roof, either.

How do you plan on getting it to be supported with the sunroof business all up in there. Seems like a huge hassle to me. Also, headrest monitors may not tilt, but the viewing angle should still be sufficient where it it not an issue...Actually, I always wondered why people never revered the headrests to install the screen (might not be possible). Also, rear visibility with the drop down? And it cannot really be uninstalled, headrests can be replaced.

I wouldn't do the drop down solely due to not having a rear view mirror when it's in use. I use that thing so much I'd hate to have a screen blocking my view; especially on longer trips.

I guess in my case that's not an issue since I'm usually pulling an enclosed trailer. Now that I think about it I use my side mirrors more than my rear view. Must be from pulling a trailer all the time.

I have a drop down. I wish I would have gone headrests.

My kids are younger (just turned 7, 9). Seems like I'm turning around at least once to tell them to knock something off, or in years past to hand them something. Almost every time I hit my head on that freaking thing.

Not to mention it does block the rear view mirror. Not a huge deal, but can be a pain.

The drop down does "hide" easier for people passing by and looking in windows.

Isnt the Canadian dollar almost the same as the US dollar now? That price seems awfully high.

I had 2 headrest monitors installed for much much less than that.

Drop down was installed on Friday. It looks great and the kids love it. Rear view mirror is pretty much blocked, but not as bad as I thought. I will post some pics soon.

With the headliner out, its really not that hard to make a bracket or two for a support that will bypass all the sunroof stuff. And yes, when installed correctly, they can be replaced. Alls you see would be the 4 screw holes.

It doesnt seem too high depending on what screen it is. 800 alpine screen + 200 dollar labor = a grand

From what he originally said it seemed too much. Of course if they were name brand monitors like the alpines it would have made a huge difference, but the term generic was used.

Congrats on the monitor! Lets see how it came out. You will love the video in the truck. I just took a 3hr drive both ways with my kids and the monitors were a god send!
