Overhead DVD install question???

Hey guys,

I've got an '07 XLT without a sunroof and without (I think) the rail system. I'm looking for an overhead DVD system to entertain my 2 1/2 year old twin boys. My truck isn't the primary "kid mover," so it doesn't need to be anything too exotic.

Given the fact that I don't have a sun roof, I would think that it should be pretty easy to find some suitable options. I'd like to tap into my factory head unit if possible and hardware the DVD system so the sound plays clearly over the speakers.

Any ideas on makes/models to look out for? I travel during the week with my job and don't have a lot of time to research this. I'll probably utilize a car toys store of some sort to handle the install. Thanks in advance.

I've done this installation using my rail system inside my truck but this could of easily been done without the rail system. Take a look at my installation pics

When I was looking a I did a lot of research, I mean a lot. I fell in love with the Alpine b/c out of all the ones I've seen, this one had the greatest picture. Everyone that gets in my truck thinks that its an HDTV, lol. At the time I wanted it the price was $799 and I didnt want to pay that amount. Lucky me b/c while I was doing my research that week the price dropped to $699. As soon as I saw this I jumped on it. Shoot me a pm if you have any questions. I have an aftermarket head unit (Pioneer Z2) and I can tell you that using the factory headunit will not be an easy task when it comes to connecting these two. If you dont care about hearing your sound throughout the truck just use the wireless headphones that come with the unit. Well only one headphone comes with it but an additional one only cost $20. I have mine setup where as I can put a dvd in my front head unit and see the image on the Alpine as well as hear the sound through out the truck but if I put the dvd in the Alpine the only way you will get sound is through the headphones.
