Just wondering if anyonehad this unit. The place I am looking at has it for 1599 but has a 200 rebate. Is this expensive for this unit?

If that is from an authorized seller, that is about the right price. Crutchfield sells it for $1,399 with free shipping. If you want to save money, look at ebay. You can find it for around $1,100 but, it will not be authorized and have no warranty.

Yes it is from an authorized dealer. They give me an extra year warranty on top of what the manufacturer does if I buy it through them. Is this a good unit for the price?

Just installed

Hey, I just finished installing the 5510 two nights ago. I also installed the ipod module and sirius adapter. The unit is great! It looks really sharp and the ipod controls and navigation features work perfectly. The install took a while, but I soldered everything and did a little fabricating befind the dash to make everything clean. I am starting on an amp and sub install tonight.

If you would like any more info on the unit, let me know. BTW, I bought it from Crutchfield (first time buying anything from them). I have nothing but good things to say about the experience--great technical support (I had to call with a couple of questions) and really fast shipping. They are also running a special on the Sirius adapter right now ($50 off).

Anyway, good luck.
