GPS and entry points

Here is a general question regarding GPS units. I am looking for a GPS unit that allows the entry of a coordinate, either a Lat/Long or a DMS format and it will then calculate the directions. II would prefer a handheld, but a dash unit will be fine. Most of the literature you look at on-line does not tell you much and most store I have gone to were little help.

My plan is to have my buddy go find a camp area in the forest and call me with the location so that I might find it the next day.

Anybody have suggestions or similar needs? Any help would be great.

Thanks for your help.

I have a Garmin handheld that will let you enter Lat/Lang. However it won't calculate a route on roads to get you there. Newer Garmin handhelds include auto-routing capabilities. Try the Legend or Vista Cx models.
