what i want or need, i just want a something that plays dvd and nav, its so hard to pick just one.

 

This is a highly personal decision. You will find lots of opinions about different models here. It's truely a great place to get info.

You will have to visit several different shops to get your hands on all the different makes and models. Shop and be smart. Prices range all over the place, from store discounts, ebay craigslist etc.

The main thing you'll find is that each system will have something lacking that another may have then vise versa. There isn't really a "one for all" unit out there.

Here are a few things to think about:

1. Expandability
2. Quality
3. Flexibility (GPS, DVD, Bypass-able etc)
4. Control (of the functions, sounds, personalized etc)
5. Size, DD or flip out, see #2
6. Budget (see #1)
7. Budget, did I list that already
8. Availablity
9. Running out of advice here
10. Installation


I made it to 10 sort of.

My choice is the Alpine W205 with the new BlackBird. Kill three birds (get it?) with one unit.

thanks. really i dont need a nav its not like i travel that much, but i have a kr it would look good in the dash, and well if i got a nav unit then id have a reason to travel.

It's damaged. When it was removed from the dash, there was an RCA connectoed pulled out from the HU, so you cannot use the Video Input which sucks if you are adding a video ipod.

I don't want the radio back, I want justice to be served so that others don't face the same fate as I did.

Thanks, and yes it sucks....its not the upgrade path i had in mind that's for sure.

I am in line for the new 205....and I am having my driver door lock removed during the repairs that have added up to 3500 bucks so far. Also getting an alarm put in and I am going to park better in parking lots.

Oh yeah and I am going to jbweld some razor blades on the back of the radio too!

 

lol that should work, i live in a place where well stuff like that happens but oh no so severe someone may take something just laying around, but no one would break into another guys truck, thats just wrong. But ill contine my search for a nav unit tomrrow, im so sleepy now. I gotta find a buyer for my tires and wheels first before i got the $$$ for a unit anyways.
