Well When I had my Tacoma I had my 2 meter radio and GPS (for my offroad race support role)! Well when I got the F150 I was trying to figure out a way to added my stuff without Drilling holes for everything! Well one day while working at my saturday job (Selling Offroad race stuff) I found a metal Bracket that is used for a diffrent type of radio that was bigger! well I took it out to my truck and it fitted in that space on top of the dash, well let say my idea on how to do set up everything took off!! here are pics and I only drilled four holes to hold the braket down! BTW I have to say thanks for a great website! due to this website I learned how to take apart my dash and so forth!!

 

I too am a HAM, KC5PFG.....and having just been broken into, you better get yourself a nice alarm or have the ability to take that off the dash.

Sucks to have a nice set up like that taken from you.

As for my Moblie rig, I use an HT Dual Bander ICOM IC-T7H If I need power, I add the qtr wave whip. Not much but i can get out....

The GPS I put up only on race weekends! The radio however is gonna be very hard to steal from there! all bolts are hard to get to! the only way to get it is to try and tear it out of there but the bolts holding the bracket in place go into the dash and they pretty much have to take out the whole dash to get it!!
