Break In!!!!

Well it happened today. Someone broke in to my F250 KR and stole my Pioneer HU. They almost did me a favor as I was looking to upgrade, but having my dash destroyed in the process makes it new much more fun.

They also destroyed the KR steering wheel, and broke the driver door lock and dented the door. Funny thing is...I had my watch, not bragging but it starts with an "R" and TWO 80 gig ipods in the truck along with a SCT XcalII and a Solo 5 Radar detector. They didn't bother those things nor my subs or amps....

Look like I have to get used to the factory unit until the W205's come in.

All this happened in less than 15 min while at Frys....that mother F'er got me good. I am pretty pissed about the trouble I am going to have go through in order to get this fixed.

Sorry to hear about that, man. That is about the worst feeling ever, to walk out to your "baby" and see that some no good bastard broke in and tore it up. I feel for you. Good luck with the new hu!

Man, that bites the big one. Low life thugs gotta take from those who work hard for their toys.

Sort of why I want an alarm. I know most people now-a-days don't pay attention, but it may have discouraged those pukes from stealing from you.

Good luck.

You should superglue razorblades to the back of your new HU. I know a guy who did that after losing his to the thieves

Sounds good until you get sued by some punk criminal.

The worst feeling about the whole thing is the fact that we put a lot of care in our trucks and some jackass just tears it up like its a 20 year old pinto.

Hope they do! They to admit, under oath they were stealing my HU. the cost of it makes it a felony in my state and would mean jail time for the perp.

And. I'll never pay them in the event they do win the case.

Thanks for the replies, been on vacation....but reading on my blackberry.

So yes, Frys does have really good videos but not sure if they have come up with anything yet.

Check this out. I was robbed on March the 11th. Later that day some yahoo on Craigslist put a Pioneer HU up for sale...touch screen....no model for 500 bucks. Then again 2 days later, along with 3 other ads for 1 Clairon and 2 Alpines. Hmmmm wonder if the detectives would like that info.

State Farm is giving me a hard time about the break in.

Was the person that listed the equipment in your area? I assume you have the serial number of the HU? Did the local PD enter the info into NCIC? Did they do pawn shop checks (some PD's do them on a normal basis and some only do they checks when needed)?

Any news on the surveillance video?

Good luck with State Farm. I thought they were good when it came to claims.

No alarm I guess....may put one inside the truck rather than under the hood per someones recommendation.
