Eclipse 5435 install help

Hello All,

Just got my 5435 and have it installed, but the GPS does not work and the speed signal is not working. I installed the speed sensor onto the Grey/Blue wire in the factory radio harness just like in a previous post.

Any ideas on what the problem is?

Thanks,

Mark Shelton

The wire should be grey/black in the radio harness in a 04' and up.

Thanks,

That works.

The GPS suddenly started working this morning too.

Now do I need to hook up the reverse wire if Im not using a back camera?

Oh, by the way...This thing rocks.

Yes, Otherwise when you back up the GPS will not know where you are. It's pretty easy, check out this thread on fordf150.net for pics and instructions:

I've been reading the threads on installing an Eclipse HU, they've been very helpful as I just bought the 5500 and installed it. However, I'm still having some problems. All the basic functions work except a few. You guys seem to really know what your talking about here so I would really appreciate a little guidance as well with these issues...
1)HU does not detect the SPEED SENSOR, this thread already answered my problem, I think i hooked it to Green/Black
2)It sounds like my factory AMP is not working. The instructions said to connect the HU blue/white wire to the adapter blue/white wire. But there are 2 "light" blue/white wires on the adapter that say "AMP ON". Also there is one individual blue/white wire coming out of the HU with a bullet connector on it that says "+B AMP"???
3)HU keeps my navigation waypoints in memory no problem, but when I turn off my key I loose all my radio presets
4)I can't figure out how to connect my steering wheel controls to the HU
5)the HU doesn't darken the brightness at night time.
Sorry for all the questions, any help would be appreciated.

connect both of the blue/white wires to the blue/white on the eclipse.(only one of those wires on the adapter lines up with an existing factory wire but it doesn't hurt to connect both) Also wire a 1.5k ohm resistor inline between the eclipse blue/white and the adapt blue/white this will quiet some of the turn on pop from the sub.

3)HU keeps my navigation waypoints in memory no problem, but when I turn off my key I loose all my radio presets

sounds like you have the constant wire and the ignition wire swapped or you popped the constant wire fuse.

4)I can't figure out how to connect my steering wheel controls to the HU

you need a pac swi-x or swi-ecl
5)the HU doesn't darken the brightness at night time.

connect the orange/white wire from the eclipse to the brown wire at the light switch not to the illumination wire at the radio harness, the voltage there is incorrect for that to work.
hope that helps
