I've been looking at the 3 and can't decide what unit to go with. I seen the AVN2454 yesterday at a local shop and was very pleased with it, but is it worth the cost. $2199 + $250 for install. Does this seem about right? Is it worth the extra $1000 over the Kenwood 7015 and Alpine IVD300?

I noticed the AVN2454 comes complete with navigation and is all housed in the HU itself. Where as the others, you have to purchase and they are mounted seperate.

Any pro's or con's the above 3?

I just installed the eclipse avn 5435 and it's an awesome unit. It is the new version of the avn 2454 and the buttons are set up for american cars. I paid 2000 and 250 for the install. I can't recomend it over the other units but it is a nice head unit.

 

Once you load up the other HU's with all the stuff needed to make it equal to the eclipse the prices are all very very close. The eclipse is a bad **** unit, but try to get the newer models if you can, or get the 2454 at a reduced price since it's an outgoing model.

I would suggest waiting until next month then the iva-d310 comes out from alpine. I saw it at ces and it has some great improvements for the same price. Google for it and you'll find some articles.

 

Too bad on that alpine unit you have to add on navigation. That alone will eat your wallet. I'm telling you, the 2454 I have is a great all around package. You can't go wrong.
