GR,

the sirius sat tuner sits behind the radio, out of site. It is controlled from the touchpanel on the 5435.

I apologize for the delay on pics everyone. I will get pics on soon.

The nav version is on the dvd. Eclipse responded and said the most current ver is 1.0 which is the one i have. They said they have an update scheduled for June of this year to be released. They said you have to purchase it at a local retailer.

Just curious, how many pixels does the 5435 have?

How clear is the picture, compared to and Alpine IVA-D300

Greeny,

The Eclipse unit has 280,800 pixels (400(h) x 234(v) x 3)

As for how it looks as compared to the Alpine, I couldn't honestly tell you. I know the picture looks great on the Eclipse.

I install home theatres for a living. I think the Eclipse is comparible with most LCD screens, if not better.

Perry,

I also recieved Nav version 1.2 with the 5435

Never Mind

Never mind that question. I called eclipse tech support and was informed that the only way to wire the Ipod is through the Aux Audio Input, meaning the unit would have to be controlled thru the Ipod. They said they have received multiple requests for this and they are forwarding them to their product developement folks, so an upgrade should be coming (in our lifetime, who knows). Most likely, uny upgrade will be in the form of a future model as the firmware installed in the current models is most likely not capable of being updated to add this function to an existing model. Oh well, would've been pretty neat.

Oh by the way, any pics out there of this unit installed, up and running?

And.....did anyone go with the eclipse back-up camera? I'm interested to see if it is worth the ~$250 for the eclipse camera vs ~$80 for a generic one off ebay.

Thanks...

Kenwood vs Eclipse vs Alpine

I'm looking forward to getting your pics etc of the Eclipse system...I went with the Kenwood set up and will be posting pics. I love the Eclipse decks and it was more a matter of getting a better price on the install etc for the Kenwood.

Mute/sub out on5435?

For those of you who own the 5435, do you know if the unit can be muted (like the factory HU can? and does it have a sub out signal for the sub amp and sub speaker? If so, how much control do you have over just the sub in terms of frequency, loudness, etc.

Thanks,
Chris
