The Official Midwest Get-together thread

Allllllllllrighty boys and girls, summer is coming soon. Many of us on here have talked about getting togther over the summer at Table Rock Lake just outside Branson, MO. Chances are we'd be staying at Big Cedar Lodge. Anybody have any particular dates? I was thinking mid June. What could you bring? Boats would always be needed, I'll be bringing mine but can't really haul jack crap in it. Let me know what you think. I know that BREW, Trytokeepup, PSS, and RP are already in. Who else? :beers:

PSS-Mag 11-06-2006 08:43 PM

I'll have my boat and jet ski there, hopefully I'll have a waverunner by then and have it too.

I don't think we will be staying at Big Cedar, one we would have had to make the reservations already, 2 it's about $300 per night.............

I'm fine with camping.

Yeah..that was scaring me from Big Cedar also. Actually, there is a place around the corner from Big Cedar. All rooms have a kitchen, and it's a small place, maybe 10 - 15 rooms total. Big dock also. Not as nice, but it's maybe $150 a night. If that. I think I'd like it better due to the fact that it'd be just us there, and it's got a huge bonfire pit.

EDIT: Twin Island Resort
EDIT #2: WOW. The most expensive room there is $90. Cheapest is $55. I'll take this over camping...

Sweet!!!!!

Wish they showed the boat ramp...... but we will have enough F150's there we could launch the titanic on bare ground and get her back out agian if we wanted.

Zaairman 11-06-2006 09:54 PM

Haha...the boat ramp there isn't advertised because it's just a gravel ramp. I've launched there and had my truck a lot farther in the water than I normally do, and didn't have any problems. But, there are a few public (paved) launch ramps within a 5 min drive. Or, you could swing by Big Cedar on your way there and launch there.

Here it shows just where on the lake we'd be. The cliff is my favorite spot on the lake, it's where everybody goes to jump off the cliff into the water. Big Cedar is also a 5 min boatride away.

Here's where the boat ramp is:

I know, I have super sweet paint skills.

HUH.... looking at that last pic, I htink I drove by there once with my boss on land........ If it is tha tramp sucks..... My boat trailer would be to the axles before it got to water.

You said you'd be up for a get together. Haha..it'll probably end up being me and PSS. Ah well, it'll still be sweet. My favorite lake btw...

I'd be up for a get together, I've never been on Table Rock. But I've been on Taneycomo quite a few times trout fishing. Let me know when you all decide a date.

man i was so excited to see this thread, but alas, MT, while classified as midwest according to the powers that be, is certainly not midwest in relation to this glorious get together. lemme know if the location moves westward...
:beers:

I might be able to make this....don't have a boat yet....maybe I will in the summer...who knows....I will know more closer to the date....:beers:
