ANyone in NOVA know how to install remote starts?

Hey guys, I just picked up a ford remote start/alarm. Just wondering if anyone knows how to install it or of a shop that will do a good job. A few shops I've called want 300+ just to install it (I have all the parts). Any help would be great. Thanks

Yeah, they wanted 300 to do it (350 if I wanted it soldered). To me, thats crazy. For around 150, I'd just pay to have it done. But for 300, I'll do it myself. Can't take more then 4-5 hours for a first timer. Just seeing if anyone here has done one before in case I run into any problems. Its my only car, so I'll be screwed if I can't get it to work the next day.

You need to always solder the wires. Even if you are not a first timer I would allow 8-10 hours, they may also warranty their work which would help fix problems as opposed to you figuring it out yourself.

box?? Maybe you are referring to the bypass kit for the PATS system. You can easily find them on ebay for about 30-40. I got the ford one (so it just plugs right into the alarm system) from Tusca Ford on ebay for 35 shipped.

If you get a chance, please ask him what he charges. I sent an email to the store and they said they don't install anything not bought from them. Thanks

Call the store and ask for Chris Torney. Talk to him on the phone. Of course the store is gonna tell you they do not install anything they do not sell.

Former installer for myer emco

Hey carlos, I have started my own shop in sterling, Designo motoring. I would have to see a link for what remote start it is that needs to be installed. I usually only install Dei products just because Im a dealer for them and they are reliable. I can say over the years anything that is not made by Dei (viper, python, hornet etc) is junk and not worth anyones time, trust me.

Come check out my new place sometime.

If a shop charges extra to solder wires run as fast as you can out of that place. That is a joke, you always solder wires especialy on an ignition harness for god sake. Thats funny!!!!
