The 'two-tower' FlexLite fan with adjustable thermostat was about $250, if I remember right. I'm likely to buy another one for my Wife's Bronco, just because it worked so well for fuel economy and increased power from not having to spin the mechanical fan & clutch anymore.
If you add a 3-way toggle-switch (on - off - auto) to override the fan when you need to: Have it 'On' all the time for long hillclimbs or towing -or- totally 'Off' to allow for deeper water-crossings so you don't break the spinning fanblades off when they hit the water... if you are into that sort of thing. I don't need to do that very often, but it is a nice feature to have when you need it. Otherwise, 90% of the time I just left it on 'Auto' so it would kick On & Off as the engine needed it.
Well, that is the beauty of having your own Rig... You can make it any way you want it.

If you are set on a 'Body Lift', you will find that you will need to re-aline your fan shroud with the radiator, or it will hit. Or - you could do what I did and take off the fan and shroud altogether, replacing it with a good quality, high CFM, electic fan kit. I have a dual-fan FLEX-LITE set-up which worked like a charm. Got another 1mpg by having it, too. Had it set with a thermostat to TDC on the Temp Guage, so it only came on when the engine needed it. As long as I was going over 35mph, it hardly ever kicked-in. Saved a lot of power for other uses.
Body Lifts - they are in-expensive and easy to do, but they do little for actual ground clearance at the frame unless you put on larger tires (which is where the clearance comes into play). I did neither to my ole truck - rather I added Skid Plates and removed the rear anti-sway bar for better axle articulation. Worked like a charm and kept the CG low. I did think about a lift, and personally, I would have done a modest Suspension Lift (4 inches) before a Body Lift. Works better and looks better - no gaps between the frame, bumpers, and body... and you get all the clearance benefits. My Two Cents - for what it is worth.
Exhaust (and Intake)-
I ran a Cat-Back SIDO bottle-type muffler (not a Glass Pak) with the pipes exiting in a diagonal split out both sides of the truck behind the rear tires (like a mirror image of the 'stock' exit point on the other side). Worked very well and was tucked-up far enough to avoid damage from steep departure angles (not 'straight out the back' pipes that get crushed too easy).
Other Air Mods were a pair of 'Shorty' headers (that was an easy job) and a K&N air-filter, maintaining the remainer of the stock intake plumbing. Got almost 2 mpg improvement, and a noticable improvement on low to mid-range torque (acceleration). I do not know what it did for Horsepower since I never had it Dyno-ed, but it was all Money Well Spent.
Tires-
I ran 31x10.5 R15 almost the entire life of my truck. They worked very well. I never wished for larger tires.
I did a short spell with 32x11.5 R15 and hated them. Too wide for good mileage and they sucked in the wet (hydroplaned easy), and they were too wide to maintain a reasonable turning radius, rubbing on the front track-arm. I yanked them off and sold them after only a couple months.
Stick with the 31s.
Well... I always tend to 'function' over 'flash'. SO with that in mind, what is wrong with your ole' truck that you would like to fix or improve? I may have some ideas for you, depending on what you want to use the your Rig for and how I had mine set-up (daily driver or weekend project truck? on-road only or sometimes off-road? fun or work? power or economy? lift or stock? dunes or mud?... Oh- so many things to think about - but fun to do so :-)
you live just a few minutes from me then. I live right off 475, about a mile from the 475/484 light, on a horse farm. I'm not up here as often as I used to be, I go to school down at UCF in Orlando and live down there, but I'm up here now and throughout the summers/weekends.
Classic? Does this count as a 'classic' now? Good Lord, I remember when I bought mine new. I just thought of it as a good ole' rig... but never a 'classic'.
