I dont believe so but your running an 04' and I know that those were coming out of the factory already running in near lean condition so adding a CAI on top of that without custom tunes would not be good. But if you get a Gryphon with custom tunes they will tune your engine to get the maximum performance out of the CAI without harm to your engine.
I put in a Volant CAI at the same time and noticed a huge differance in power gain, it feels better than stock with stock tires in the 93 performance mode and went up about 2 mpg's in this mode. At first I ran the 87 tranny and noticed a huge differance as well I finally feel like I can step on it again and pass someone. All in all I put it back to stock for a little bit just to get mpg readings off it and was running a 11mpg average now when im getting anywheres between 13-15mpg but idk how much the Volant is playing into this also. Cant wait for my custom tunes to be ready now and see what the differance is.
I love my Bushwacker's too. They're not to difficult to install and really keep my truck's side clean. The place where I purchased them was Moss Motors online. I believe that they have stopped selling F-150 accessories due to the economy. I did obtain a great price thru them at $359 plus shipping, which was minimal due to their location. The pocket flares are normally going for $459. I would look them up on the web and give them a call it can't hurt...
