I just read your post on another web site.
[b]"Your correct mike p she leaned out,due to cold weather and the pcm advancing timing

mods are
1.LFP 4 # lower pulley
2.superchip LFP
3. cold air kit with extra cold air
4.mac catback exhaust
5.factory tech valvebody=tranny
6.boost by pass
7.traction bars
8.2 inch lower rear shackles
9.pcv in line oil seperator
9.was denso IT 20's @ 0.040, just installed ngk tr6's @ 0.038
10.various other thangs , that should not have caused this prob.

probably was around 10 to 14 #'s of boost when this situation occured, was pulling on a mustang gt got sideways let off got back in it after she straightened up, = got a little sideways.

# 8 drivers side acts like it is dead or no fire ,even after new plugs , still getting tick tick tick sound from that cylinder trough the exhaust ,well sounds like sound is in the catalytic converter,

Will have to bite the bullet and fork over major $$$ for repair I guess"

Was the chip burned for your mods? From another thread I was under the impression LFP was in the construction business and did the Lightning parts in his spare time. Does LFP burn his own chips?

Mark at lfp told me they burnt their own chips, and the chip was burnt for my mods ordered all at the same time about 7 months ago.

Sorry to hear what happened. I can only hope that LFP will make it right. I purchased an Art Carr torque converter for my truck this summer through LFP and it stalled at 3800 rpm instead of the advertised 2400 rpm. They still haven't refunded my money. The engine is a lot harder to replace and costs more than a tranny so I kinda know how you feel.

Easterisland,

An agressive program and cold air temps can lead to detonation. Many have posted warnings to listen for detonation in the colder weather. Not sure what happend in excited's misfortune, but If the aforementioned senario is correct, I don't think we can point this one at LFP or any tuner for that matter. Nonetheless, I hope the best for Excited.

You are oh so correct the black one,[ i am in no way insinuating a tuner is at fault] cold weather did me in but no detination sound at all,she leaned out major ,was putting the hurt on a tang gt got sideways got out of it and back in it,=next redlight =the bad deed was done =major mula time. i am 44 years old , and knew after much contemplation that modifying my truck was MY decision not a tuners.
after all is corrected will go with flip chip like Mark at LFP suggested i do in the beginning,Lesson learned ,for another hundred $ or so ,at the time i purchased my chip i could have had a flip chip and literally saved Thousands. This is Excited's fault not a tuners period...

Imagine what it would be like if more people stepped up to the plate and had that attitude.

On the brighter side of things, sounds like the perfect excuse, er I mean time to get a built shortblock.

All I had to go on was excited previous words. He said,"...the chip was burnt for my mods ordered all at the same time..." I just assumed he ordered a chip which was burnt for his mods, when in actuality it was a chip burnt for the summer and not meant to be used in the fall, winter or spring. My fault on that one.

BTW, most probably don't hear the detonation before the engine goes. If you do a search you will find that most heard nothing before their engine gave out.

Actually eastlander the chip was supposed to have been for all weather conditions from 100 degrees to -0 ,that was probably to much to ask from 1 single program chip, that's when Mark at LFP suggested i get a flip chip instead,I went the frugal route =single chip , now i am paying the consequences. Thanks for your feedback though all is appreciated.
