Q For those with Ford's MACH MP3
Is ebay the only place you can find one of these besides a Ford dealership? Also I know that Ford made this unit for the mustang and ranger...is there any difference between the two that would restrict putting one or the other in the F150? Thanks in advance...

http://www.radiosandmore.com/ has them for $400 and will give you $100 credit for your factory cassette or $200 for a factory CD player (at least that was when I bought mine).
They don't have the factory black one, but they do have a variety of covers. One thing to remember is that all Mach MP3 players do not use any additional amps like the premium sound or mach 460 uses. What that means is they will plug right into our harnesses. If you do find one from a Mustang, the mounting is different than the F-150 so some modification will be needed. Hope this helps :) ***edit*** I did see a black one but I don't think they are offering the refund from what I can tell. |
I bought mine off eBay a few months ago for 250.00, and it's really nice. The seller said it was from a new pull from a 2002 Ranger. I disconnected the stock, and the MP3 unit hooked up to the same connections and mounted in place just like the factory radio did.

Just wondering, not bashing....
What makes you guys go out and pay 200-300 dollars for a near featureless mp3 deck when similarily priced aftermarket mp3 decks destroy the 'stock' mp3 deck in features and performance? Is the stock (bland, imo) look that desireable? Just wondering.

Cheap: flimsy construction, lots of little cheap buttons and switches, and stupid little plastic thingies. Now let's get back to car stereos . . . Wel, you asked. :) |
Tim hit the nail on the head.
Simplicity and plus if you have some yo yo style kiddie radio, it just makes it more tempting for someone to want to steal it :) Guess I'm getting old....... |
I got one and it went in and works fine.. it even uses the CD deck behind the seat too.. by the way, I got mine from Radios and more and its black just like stock.. in fact it was a trade in and I got a few bucks off although it was new out of the box..
there were 2 reasons for buying one of these instead of something aftermarket. 1) I wanted the dash to look stock and not have an aftermarket look to it 2) when you put an aftermarket head unit in it leaves that space that has to be covered up with some kind of a filler and I dont care for that look.. Wel, you asked. :) i dunno. i hardly find brands like eclipse and nakamichi "kids stuff." there are good aftermarket decks out there.... but i agree...some of that sh*t like blaupunkt looks like "fisher price my first head unit"... |

Thanks for the info guys....looks like ebay is the less expensive way...for the alpines and nakamichis...thats what the mustang is for:p |
