Converting RWHP to Crank HP??

What is the % of drivetrain loss??

Swanson Performance’s web site states “Assuming a 25% drivetrain loss......”

I like using those #'s, but what does everyone else use?

The drivetrain loss is 11.2% @ max torque, and every time I answer this question, people tell me I'm nuts, but no one has ever proved me wrong, either.

11-16%

As posted it's 11.2% at max torque. Now that number changes at different RPMs. Personally, I dyno'd my truck stock and worked out the numbers to get "380" stock. That was 15.5% for me.

I think everyone will agree that 25% is way off. Besides crank hp is a useless number.

Sorry cyntaxx, the 400/500 club is at the rear wheels. If it wasn't everybody would already be there with any 1 mod. The sad part is that you are sooooooooooooooooooo close. It's like that guy on here running ET's of 12.002 or close to that. No 11's for him. You both only need one degree of temp drop to pull over the line.

Actually, I never realized that there was a difference. That's why I like this site already. I'm learning so much.

So, if I understand this correctly:

If I have 360RWHP, I would really have just under 400 crank HP?

Thanks,

sirus

If my math is correct(1.12x360=403.2), you get a little over 400.
