Magnaflows don't last?

I'm looking for different mufflers, I need a little more thunder with the Lightning! I asked a friend (who owns a muffler shop) about Magnaflows and I won't repeat what he said about them, but... Let's just say he disliked them because they are glass packed and won't last. Anyone experience this? I remember glasspacks from the 60's and 70's, as they burned out the got really LOUD. What'cha think?

Sounds like your " friend" wants to sell you one of his brand.
Personally, I like the Magnaflow.

My Magnaflows have been working great. Only time will tell how long they will last, but so far so good.

The only advice becides that I like my Magnaflows is to stay away from Flowmaster mufflers.

I have had my Magnaflow about 10 months now and am very pleased with it. Too early to tell about longevity, but I believe my stainless version will last a very long time!

I've had a Magnaflow 12468 for a combined total of 30K miles (two different L's). Still sounds fine.

I believe the little round style may be glass packed, but the larger ovals are baffled.

I think even the big ones are glass packed. Was not impressed when i saw these, but my silver bulllet is still working good, time will tell.

Thumbs up Magnaflow

I've had my Magnaflow on my '00 L for about a year and a half, still looks good (stainless) and sounds great, John H.
