There's some more cool stuff I got in the 'ol shop but I don't know if I'll put them on before or after the Englishtown event. Too many copy cats out there. I'm getting tired of copy cats

What do you mean copycats? Don't post pics of every detail/mod you do if you don't want others to share in modding their trucks for this hobby. I haven't seen any copies of your truck.

If you haven't seen copies of my truck around here you haven't been on here much. And don't worry bro, the pictures will be few and far between from now on.

Rob, I really wasn't trying to start a flame or anything. I was just confused about the copycat comment. I realize that it's getting harder all the time to find new and original mods since these trucks have been around for a while now, but this board is about info sharing.

It seems you usually do mods first, but many of us think, "D@mn that would look good on my truck," while not trying to be a copycat, just personalizing our trucks to our likeing (sp?). Not trying to step on your toes or anything.

I will have my smooth OEM endcaps tomorrow, but they have been in process now for a month.

Here is my list of Robg copycat stuff

-Shaker hood
-guages in center console(I did not know at the time though,so does that count)
-There could be other stuff
I had the smooth wiper cowl before.

I see what is out there I like and pick and choose what I want to do to my truck.I try not to go by just one guy. There is a lot of good ideas out there.

RobGs truck is lightyears ahead of most of the Ls out there and he is usually thinking about the next mod before we even think to do it.
I appluad his originality.

What really sucks, is when you are the first to get a new product, and the company that makes it, makes more of them. Like the shaker hood for example. It really makes it hard to be the only one with that piece when they are being marketed by the manufacturer. That's really inconsiderate of them isn't it. To make money at the expense of somebodies originality is just wrong.

Where does originality begin anyway? With an idea? Or with someone with the means to apply that idea? Some people take themselves a little too seriously. They have very nice trucks though. I like seeing the updates and changes. I don't live for them.

Copy Cats? What are you talkin' about bro.

Most of the stuff you have is bolt-on anyways. That is sold to the public. Do not get me wrong. Yours is nicely pieced together and is always clean but...thats about it. Original custom stuff I see on your L really is only the swaybar you made. Might be more, but nothing that is hard to find.

About being a secret of the trade of the OEM endcaps is basically.....smoothing....just alot of work though. Your L is nice but....well thats about it. There is nothing on your L that I see...that cannot be done in a weekend. Not even the paint job.

Like you said yourself, if you do not want "copycats" BUYING the same parts you have....do not post pictures then. Lord knows if I get caught buying that rollpan I will be a RobG nut saddler. :P

Flame on buddy.

I gotta agree dude, your truck is nice and all that, but it aint that original.

Maybe a nice fade paint job or something would set it off.

Sorry guys.Gotta disagree.I do not think there is a nut or bolt that has not been altered or cleaned or something in one way or another.
I have never seen the truck in person(I will at Fords of E-town) ,but from talking to people who have seen it they are in awe of it.You do not get that from just bolt-ons.Rob must be doing something right.

Nobodys trying to say his truck doesnt look great due to him modifying every little thing he can think of, BUT if he doesnt want people copying his work....... Keep it out of magazines, dont enter it in car shows, dont put pics up on public boards, etc, etc..

I saw the pics of the roll pan and smooth side step, and I want the back of my truck to look just like it, sorry, but its goin to happen

Thumbs up True

SVTRobG, if you have so many people wanting to imitate ( not sure if thats the right word) or copy your work, then you should take that as a Major Compliment that your work is great. How does that saying go? Imitation is the best form of flattery? I think? I would love to see it in person.
