Yah it sucks that happened.

Personal I would be upset and expect something to be done in return. A new car? no offense but get real. You act as if these cars were never intended to be DRIVEN =).. That tech is a total JACKASS and should be fired for sure, no way I would want my lightning treated in that manner. (unless I specifically told the service tech to flog it, which I have done =).. )

My first call would be to SVT though. Ask for tons of SVT wearables, apology letter from dealer. I have employees with my business, and you can only be there holding their hand so long before you have to trust them to do something correctly. THe dealer should help her out either with a new purchase, free extended warranty ect. Possibly a new set of rear tires to ensure no damage was sustained during the heat cycle.

I took my week old 2001 Lightning to the dealer complaining about the high speed driveline vibration. Guess what they wouldn't/couldn't fix it because,"we have rules about exceeding the speed limit." What a crock of ****!

Wow! That thread has been posted on 100 message boards, 40,000 views! That's horrible publicity.

The views are wayyyyyy passed that now. I think its awesome all the support that girl Tracey is recieving. Everyone is pulling together over there, regardless of what kind of car it is they drive. Your having problems getting in cause people are flogging the boards and its going so slow. It goes to show whether you drive a Ford or GM product, or whatever, when something like this happens, we all pull together. :) :) :) Mike

I would hate to be the webmaster of SVTperformance. The server has been on its knees all day and all those threads are is links to other threads on other forums. The good news is that Ford knows about this now.. The bad news is that at least a couple webmasters are gonna have $$ bandwidth charges to pay.

what an idiot

That little joyride post is linked to almost every type of vehicle forum known to man. This guy has just been dropped on a stage in front of thousands of people with his pants down around his ankles.

Grey03 Sep 27, 2002 07:02 AM

Most of you probrably drive your vehicle just as hard or harder than any "tech" ever will. Its in the shop for a reason in the first place, either you are trying to get something fixed under warranty with your fingers crossed that they wont void it while it is in the shop from the mods you just removed, or you took it there because you lack the knowledge and ability to work on it yourself.

If you had a chance to drive a Ferrari, wouldnt you want to see what it can do? Its built for speed anyway, so whats the big deal.

Do you all fell that violated by someone else driving your vehicle just as hard as you do?

I agree, the guy is an ass for posting it, but I am sure he is just someone making up a story. From what he said about hooking up the scanner and that Converter temps looked good, is BS.
