Heat & Humidity - Effect on ET'S?
Hi everyone,
Just get home from a day at the track. I am very disappointed with the times achieved today. The truck was very inconsistent, ranging from 103-106 mph & 12.9 - 13.1 With my mods, I should be around 12.5 -12.6. ? Today's times are as follows: 12.949 @ 103.92 60' 1.876 13.084 @ 105.62 60' 1.874 12.974 @ 106.31 60' 1.915 13.111 @ 106.69 60' 1.974 15lbs of air in Hoosiers Quick Time Pro's 86 degrees Humidity -83% BP 29.85 With the he?? should I do now? I am running Hoosier Quick Time Pro's too. I am beginning to wonder about these slicks. For some strange reason the truck is not running where it should be. Chris,
Heat and humidity play a big factor in your times. Especially the hot and sticky weather we've had in Ontario the past few weeks. I was at St. Thomas a few weeks back, running under similar conditions as you described, and the best I could manage was a 14.1 @ 99.xx (My truck is stock). I would wait for the weather to cool down, go back to the strip, and do a comparison of the results. You'll be very surprised. It's only supposed to be about 60 degrees this weekend. Perfect conditions. What were your 60' times? That will give you an indication if there's a problem with traction. |
Humidity and heat usually cost me about .4-.5 in the 1/4.

an easy way to fix the heat and humidity is Nitrous.
Also the JL power cooler helps allot. And the Quick time pros don't seem to work that goot for anyone. atleast thats what don was saying. |
